| Origins: | The Dole horse of Norway and the Celtic pony of Britain were the ancestors of today's Icelandic horse. |
| Breed Characteristics: | Slow to mature but are tough and hardy. They can live into their thirtys.Have a very distinctive 5th gait. |
| Temperament: | Good tempered and willing. |

| Size: | 13hh - 14hh |
| Uses: | Ideal family pony as they are good weight carriers. Good allrounders but especially endurance. |
